Julien Lair was born in 1981 and began the trumpet in Dominique Bougard’s class (solo trumpet in the Montpellier National Orchestra).

In 1999, he gets in Jean-Luc Ramecourt’s class (solo trumpet at the Orchestra of Radio-France) in the CNR of Cergy-Pontoise. He obtains a gold medal there in 2001, then, the same year, gets into the CNSMD of Paris, in Antoine Curé and Bruno Nouvion’s class, where he goes out in 2005 with a High Formation Diploma, Grade A. At the same time, Julien decides to participate in an international exchange (ERASMUS) in Reinhold Friedrich’s class at the Hochschule in Karlsruhe, Germany.

He played within numerous orchestras such as the Paris Opera, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France, the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Lyon Opera and the Montpellier National Orchestra. He is also a member of the Orchestre d’Harmonie des Gardiens de la Paix de la Préfecture de Police de Paris. (the wind band of the Paris police Headquarters.)
